I've been cleaning the mural for the past week or two. I had been using our plastic putty knives, but they're rather soft and they shred when scraping dried cement for long periods of time.
Another teacher saw me using the back end of a mini-wrench - "Why don't you get a metal scraper or putty knife?" she asked.
Well, duh. Because I somehow had forgotten that the right tool for the job makes life so much easier.
So I bought a few heavy-duty plastic putty knives, and two metal ones. Wow. What a difference the right tool makes.
I'm just whizzing through the face of this mural, scraping tile left and right - and no longer gouging holes in my fingers.
Thank you, Ms. Leonard!
