with my dog Maya. Anyone who has visited my page knows I walk daily with Maya, my greyhound/husky mix dog. She is a wonderful walking companion, when she isn't seeking out the stray squirrel or cat that is! But that just keeps it interesting. We walk an hour or more a day now that my foot has finally healed. I'm working on increasing my speed.
We also go for bike rides. The springer is working out great. I like to take her for a 4 to 5 mile bike ride a couple times a week. We go at around 10 miles an hour average so she gets more of a work out than I do, but that's ok. I can ride longer later.
On Wednesday evenings we are at agility class, so we both get a work out again! There are only 2 more classes left, I'm sad. But I'm thinking of continuing on. I really like it, she's uh, I don't know. She does everything great except for the teeter totter. The problem is, if you don't have the money to buy your own equipment, it's hard to practice. I have one borrowed jump, a homemade table, 1/3 of a walk board (it's propped on the table so that does double duty), a tunnel (a kids tunnel, not real sturdy) and homemade weave poles. Not much to work with. I'd like to find someplace to practice. Then we could have fun running around the course!
For strength training, I use a Total Gym, a exercise ball, a medicine ball and free weights. I've been bad the past few weeks, not working out with them as much as I should, there is just so much to do! So I need to improve that part of my workout. Maya joins me for that, but mostly to bug me or just lay and sleep while I work out!
