Earn Points for Rereading Articles + New Stay on Track Calendar

Hi everyone!
We thought you'd be interested in these two new features!

Reset SparkPoints on Articles You've Read

Some of our "super SparkPoints earners" (you know who you are!) have been running out of articles to earn SparkPoints for lately. We hear you! So, in an effort to let our loyal members continue to earn their daily allotment of SparkPoints for reading articles, you can now reset the articles you’ve read more than 6 months ago—so that you can earn Points by rereading them! To reset your article SparkPoints:

Click on the Account/Email Preferences link on your Start page (under the My Tools tab). Scroll down to the section titled "Reset Articles" and click the "Reset Articles" button and voila! You can now read the articles again and get more Points. Resetting your articles will keep the SparkPoints you earn for previously reading articles. You will lose the next to any articles in the Resource Center that have been reset.

PLEASE NOTE that this will only allow you to re-read articles you read more than 6 months ago; articles you have read less than six months ago will not be reset. Also noteworthy, you must be a member of SparkPeople for at least 6 months for the Reset Articles section to show up on your account preferences page.


New Stay On Track Calendar
We've also added a monthly Stay On Track Calendar to the site, which gives you an easy-to-read, monthly view of what's coming up in your program (scheduled workouts and appointments) and what you've tracked (food, workouts, notes and earned SparkPoints) each day. This calendar is interactive and printable, too!. To see your Stay on Track Calendar, go to the Reports section (under the "My Tools" tab). Scroll down to the "Weight and Other Reports" section to find your Stay on Track Calendar.

    I'm so glad yo did this as I was hard put to find articles I haven't read. Moreover, I'd read them again and find I'd already read them and simply didn't remember that I had unless they were saved by me. Thank you. Not only do I now not think I'm completely losing it but I get points too. emoticon

    Terrific! I saw my doctor this week and showed him a daily nutrition report. He was really impressed. He's going to LOVE this! He had never heard of SP, so I gave him a good overview. He was so impressed, he's going to try it himself. Thanks for all of the thought and effort you put into maintaining this awesome site!

    I take various SP reports to my RD for appointments; at first, the daily log was all that was necessary as we went over daily food intake, then the daily summaries (printouts of a week) because I am tracking numerous nutrients and she is comparing my food intake with labwork to help me match my needs.

As new reports have been created for us, I've varied which reports I take according to that month's particular focus. And this week! she was delighted with the new Stay-on-Track Calendar for the quick comparison of calories etc. I love the way I can look at just what I need! FANTASTIC!

    WOW! I love the month at a glance. I've been lax in tracking and it really shows on the new calendar. This is now a perfect tool for my doctor and I to evaluate where I can do better. Also, I can give myself a star on a printed copy for every day I do what I know I need to do to get healthy. It will be fun to see the progress! Thanks, SparkGuy and all your team!! emoticon

    We absolutely love Sparkpeople in our house. I'm on it, I've got my brother and my mom on it. But I am having trouble at certain times, not being able to add and track my food. I got error message, that says "javascript void", there is no pop up blocker. Has anyone else reported this issue. It seems to happen most when I'm in the Nutrition area, when I'm trying to add my food for the day. This has been a great program, especially for my mom who we need to track her sodium intake. But the frustration of this happening, is growing.. Any suggestions, or guidance.. Thanks

    The calendar is GREAT! Just the kind of thing I can use. I like the idea of getting points for rereading articles. I haven't gone through them all yet, but I know I will; and there are some I read repeatedly as reminders and/or motivators.

    I think this is a great idea. I like the look of the new calendar. I didn't see the cardio scheduled on the calendar, though. This is another great spark tool that Spark has come up with. Thanks.

    I just wanted to say that this calendar is great. It's something that I have been wanting for a long time now. With this we can see in a glance all the important information. We can see what we've done when we've lost the most and what we've done when we lost the least. Thank you so much for adding this feature.     I LOVE the Stay on Track calendar but there is one thing I wish you would add to it - the Daily Calorie Differential. And maybe you could put a link to it on the start page. That would be totally awesome.

    Thank you for keeping us so motivated! I really needed the articles for Sparkpoints, but was rereading them for information anyway. Getting the points helps keep me interested.

And I love the new calendar, and chart for showing my progress. Great improvements as usual!

    I had finally given up on getting points after being flamed on a team leader message board over making suggestions like this and saying that it was important to me to earn the points. I thought no one cared and no one was listening so am glad to see this as an option. Unfortunately several months ago quit my spark streaks and about a week ago I quit enterng anything for points . I was very hurt by the snide remarks of about 3 or 4 members of one team who made them about me both publicly and privately. This somehow makes me feel vendicated. Thanks
