One of those days you just don't want to end.....sigh

Our magical afternoon started riding down Rosecrans Ave in San Diego toward Shelter Island. Today being 6/14, Flag Day, and my late father's birthday, this grand avenue was lined with our stars and stripes waving in the breeze under sunny skies. I had expected another day of June Gloom, so this ride just took my breathe away.

Next, I had the awesome opportunity to go sailing on San Diego Bay with Heart of Sailing. They are a non-profit group who give this wonderful experience to kids like my foster son who has autism and developmental delays. How cool to watch both my sons get a chance to be the captain, wear the cool hat and take the rudder, under close supervision of course.
emoticon You could just see them beaming with the pride of their accomplishment.

We had a few more stops on our magical outing and the 13 year old said he just knows it's gonna be a great summer because it started off so well today. (Our school just got out on Friday) For me it's a day I will look back on and smile.

Well thanks for reading my first attempt at a blog.

That is awesome! How nice that both of your sons got to enjoy that experience. I can only imagine how big their smiles were.
