My Lawn Mower Died...Woo Hoo!

Sunday, June 14, 2009

I killed my lawn mower...ran over a rock and *didn't know it* (oh all right, I aimed right for it...lol!)...tried to start it up and what a horrible sound!

At first I worried about how was I going to keep the lawn mowed while it was in the repair shop.

But then I remembered a thought I posted a while back about getting a NON-powered mower as a way to get both extra cardio OOMPH outta my mowing along with a quiet, non-polluting means of cutting the grass.

So while I dropped off the other mower for repairs, I made sure they have to call me with the damages before they do the repairs.

Then I bought a regular old-fashioned mower...only $90 at Sears! Put it together and finished off my lawn. With such a quiet mower, I could also wear my headphones and listen to my mp3 player while mowing...ANOTHER bonus!

And to keep up the *jogging* spirit I JOGGED along at times with the tunes and the mower...woo hoo!

Enjoyed REM's tune "End of the World As We Know It"...great rocker! Although I used to question the lyrics: Why would anyone sing 'It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel FINE...'?

But then I thought, yeah, this SPARK thing HAS marked the End of the World As I Once Upon a Time Knew It....! And it sure DOES feel FINE!

Keep on SPARKING everyone! :-)

Love the way you're "making lemonade" out of the situation. I'll bet you burned a bunch of calories with that people-powered mower! WTG!

I love it. We have such a small lawn that I have often said that I will buy a push mower when this one dies. I thought I would only be able to find one at a garage sale. Great to know you can buy a new one.

Enjoy it. I am sure it is a lot more work, but you are killing two birds with one stone.
