Last Friday (June 5) when I found out that I was going to have to be on crutches for a week or two I started freaking out that i was going to gain a ton of weight. It turns out that I lost 2 pounds and finally broke through my plateau. I couldn't figure out how that happened because I obviously wasn't working out. I think I may have figured it out and wanted to share in case that really was what did it.
On June 5 I read an article in Women's World magazine about raisins being the magic weight loss food. I personally hate raisins but was so frustrated with my lack of weight loss that I was willing to try absolutely anything.
The article said that eating raisins everyday inreases the amount of leptin in your body which reduces your hunger by 42%. This in turn helps cut down cravings. It really did seem to help. Raisins also help your teeth and gums, lower bad cholesterol, reduce your risk of cancer and add another serving of fruit to your diet. At first I really didn't believe it, but i think it may have worked!! i still really hate them and practically have to choke them down. DH finds this very funny! But if it worked I will continue!! The article also said that it can help you lose 7 pounds in one week if you pair it with a good exercise program. I think that number may be a little high, but I"ll test it out when I can walk again.
