How I miss the days when summer meant relaxing and playing all day

Friday, June 12, 2009

Well, summer is officially here. My daughter had her last day of kindergarten today, so now they are both home all day again. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. My son will start preschool in the fall, and I know I need to soak up every moment of this summer with them, but I can't help having moments of yearning for the days (oh so long ago now) when summer days were all mine. I could go for a bike ride, read a book, play with a friend, help my mom, hang out with brothers and sisters, stay up late and still have energy to boot! Now that I've had my moment of nostalgia, I'm off to bed to get rested up for our first day of summer tomorrow:) Time to create memories my two will one day remember and smile about.

Oh but let me tell you all this..

In a very short time you will look back and ask yourself the question Where did time go...My children are now grown and I have more time than I know what to do with..

Enjoy every minute you have with the little ones..they grow so fast...Yes play, share and let them know you care...They will carry this in their heart for a life time and what could be better than that?

Keep your head high and look up.

Everything will work out in the end...

I completely understand! The person who penned the song "It's summer time and the living is easy" obviously didn't chase after children! emoticon
