Grand Fundraising Strategy...!

Sunday, June 07, 2009

I have a neighbor who now and then calls on me to solve her pc woes. Whenever I do she tries to give me something which I wave off.

Now that I'm getting a "taste" of the fundraising SPARK fever, I think I have an answer for her: Just put it toward the next fundraising effort I do! :-)

Getting a few donations for the Relay For Life...going to ask my co-workers this week at our staff meeting.

The day started off with glorious sunshine, had intended to get out on my bike, but then the clouds rolled in and grocery shopping obligations came along...next thing I know it's 8 pm!

Hopped on my 'mill and clocked another GRAND (1,000 cals.) which I hadn't done in a while. I always like to kick up my workouts on the weekend when I have more time.

Hope everyone had a SPARKING weekend!

You will have to let us know how the Relay for Life goes. I am going to attempt to put together a team here in San Diego in honor of my father who was diagnosed with lung cancer about 4 years ago - beat it - and 2 weeks ago was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Time to stomp out cancer!!!!

Good luck with your fundraising efforts!

My friend and I went to his class reunion and there was a woman there who in high school owed him FIVE DOLLARS for a ride he gave her. She'd never paid him and his father had NEVER let him forget that she had "bilked" him on her promise. That was 40 years earlier, so he mentioned to her that she still owed him $5 and she got REALLY upset, took out the $5 from her purse and paid him and walked off. I took the $5 and said "On Sunday morning THIS goes into the collection plate." It did.
So, my point is remember you can always do a good deed and give the "payment" to your collection plate.
