My workout partner is out of the picture all this week, so I am on my own to try to get some exercise. I put on my pedometer and headed out the door at about 6:30 this morning for a brisk walk around the neighborhood. It was pleasant enough -- it's nice to breathe the morning air, and there was only one incident of someone's dog rushing the fence, barking and growling. Living here, you learn to expect it.
Walking was a bit tougher than the stationary bike, if only because my feet got a bit more sore. If my legs start getting too sore on the stationary bike, I can just turn down the grade until they recover and then turn it back up again, but with walking, you're pretty much stuck. Not that that's a bad thing.
I would love to say that I walked a certain distance, but I got home only to discover that my cheap-o pedometer had instantly fallen open and failed to record any steps. Piece of crap. I worked it out as best I could, but I have no idea how accurate my distance estimate is (1.3 miles). Better luck tomorrow, I guess. I got out and exercised, that's what counts.
