For the past couple of weeks or so I've been going to the pool 30-45 minutes before my water aerobics class so I can get in some water jogging. PT advises me not to do any land running yet, but I really want to participate in the Inaugeral National Running Day on Wednesday, June 3. After reading a Spark article on preparing to run the 5K (Spark Your Way to a 5k), and some calculations with the Y's the aquatic director, I set out to consistently run for at least 25 minutes in the pool. We figured this would be a little over 3 miles or 5K.
Well, Saturday I did 25 minutes, yesterday (Tue) 30 minutes; and today 30 minutes. All without feeling like I needed CPR when I was done. So, if I can keep this up I should be ready next Wednesday to participate with the rest of the country in support of running to live healthy, happy, heart strong lives.
