Four More

Wednesday, May 27, 2009

I had been doing well, and had lost 4 pounds. That was about 2 and a half weeks ago. It had been raining forever and I didn't get my evening walks in, although I've started back now that its finally dry. I had still been cutting back, just not starving myself. I thought today, "Well, I'll weigh myself, maybe I've at least lost a pound." Low and behold: I've lost FOUR MORE pounds, for a total of EIGHT! I was so happy I started jumping around! I guess 4 pounds is not that much in 2 and half weeks, but I'll take what I can get! And I am certainly not starving; just cutting back a bit, especially in the evenings. I'm so happy! Now if I can just keep it up...

That is wonderful news!!! 4 lbs. is the perfect amount to lose in 2 1/2 weeks. I think by losing slowly we will be more likely to keep it off. I read magazine covers with words like "Lose 15 lbs. in a week!" and that can't be healthy. Someone here told me losing slowly helps your skin catch up to your weight loss so you don't have as much saggy skin. I don't know if it's true but it sounds right.

Isn't it nice that we don't have to starve ourselves and we can lose weight? I think we are becoming more conscious about what we are putting into our mouths with SP. I ate Cajun Lime Tilapia and 1/2 "skillet" of hot spinach and artichoke dips and tostada chips last night for dinner and I tracked it and didn't go over my fat, carbs, protein, or calories. I wanted the Applebees Chicken Oriental Salad but I knew that would not be a healthy choice due to the dressing and Chinese noodles. I wanted the hot wings but I knew that wouldn't be a good choice either. SP is helping me make better choices.

Do you have any Leslie Sansone walking videos? During the monsoon or on really HOT days I pop in a video (or DVD) and walk with Leslie. She is so encouraging. You feel like she is your best friend and you want to work hard for her. She has one mile, two mile, and three mile DVDs. I don't have any of her newer DVDs but I may get some one of these days.

Way to go that is awesome! how great is that thinking maybe you may have gained weight and then step on the "dreaded scale" and then see that you lost weight! I guess what they say is true you an eat what you want in moderation. Keep up the good work ! emoticon emoticon
