I planted my garden over the weekend. I remember a few years ago it was getting so difficult for me to do it. I would be in pain shortly into the day. I would have to sit to dig...and even STOP early for the day. For the last few years, though, I've had a much easier time and can spend a day gardening with only a few short breaks. I don't have to sit DURING gardening and didn't feel stiff the next day at all! In fact I felt refreshed. It's such great exercise. Here is what I think I did while gardening...

Squats
Twists (when I use the hoe, it's kind of a twisty motion)
Pile driver (hammering in the tomato stakes and sometimes stirring the compost pile)
Lift weights (lifting bags of dirt, manure, etc).
Walking (around the garden)

It's a great workout!

    I'll look forward to seeing your photos of how things grow again this year! Good for you to be so energetic AND to be ABLE to be so energetic!

You are really an inspiration, not just for losing, but for keeping it off, too.

    WTG with your garden...I've finally jumped in to see first hand the pleasures of growing one's own veggies...yum! :-)
