an unusually quiet day

Monday, May 25, 2009

Most people today are with their family and friends. Most people are grilling, partying, seeing parades. I am in my son and daughter in law's house with 2 big dogs who are missing their family and having to make do with me. They are doing pretty well, and the weather is cooperating......they have a yard to run in, and the older dog keeps forgetting that he is NOT as young and spry as the younger one. He comes in, curls up on the couch......then limps when he has to get back up. He talks to me more, the other one requires more physical attention. I have had a bit of built in diet control, because I am not in my own house. I do feel a bit of guilt, because my own house desperately needs attention, however, my son and daughter and granddaughter needed time together very much, and this was the way to do it. I have had a very quiet day, and I am not used to going less than 90 miles an hour up to the point that I crash. So it has been good to have enforced rest, enforced meal control, and time to sit, read, watch TV (after 2 days of trying to figure out their TV system.....boy am I a techno-idiot!!), and did some strength training. I will do some shopping on my way home, then come back tomorrow and THEN I will get to see my lovely little granddaughter too!

I really feel for you w/ the television! I'm glad you get a little break, especially with some extra boundaries food-wise, how convenient. That's neat, but the break itself is the best part.
