Phase 1, Day 4 and 5

So yesterday was day 4 for me on phase 1...my brother graduated from law school and there was a party. I knew of this ahead of time and knew what to expect. And yes, I did allow myself foods that were not part of phase 1. But I knew that this was coming. I had considered waiting to start Phase 1 until after this party, but I'm glad that I started last week, instead. I feel good about this because if I had waited until today to start, I probably wouldn't start at all! I would keep enjoying delicious left-overs that my parents sent home with us, most likely...Instead, I'm on day 5 today. I'm still counting yesterday as day 4. I'm not starting all over again. This is something that I would do in the past: I'd go 2 days, break down, eat carbs and then start all over again. This would happen repeatedly, even if I got to day 8 w/o breaking...I'd still start back on day 1. I think this broke me mentally, which is one of the reasons that I always had a tough time coming back to South Beach. So I'm making progress!

Today is going well. I bought turkey sausages (2 links = 1 serving, 7 g of fat, 120 calories) plus a couple of eggs (which I should really cut down to 1)...I'm finding that its really getting me through the morning.

All in all, I'm feeling great!

    Good for you pushing on even thought there are othings in the way. I just challange myself to do the best I can. Maybe work out a little more the next day. Chances are 1 bad meal is not gonna set you back. Enjoy your brothers party!
