Dealing with the unexpected

Monday, May 18, 2009

I am so glad I am healthier today than I was a month ago. This morning my car wouldn't start and I had to have it towed to two different repair shops because the first shop was not able to repair the problem. I missed an appointment, then had a bunch of emergency work to get done for my job. Talk about stress! A month ago, all of this happening on a Monday morning would have reduced me to tears and a giant hot fudge sundae for lunch.

Today it reduced me to an exasperated phone call with a friend that ended in laughter and a good workout a few hours later than I had intended and then sitting down and plowing through the work that had come up. All with a positive attitude and the confidence that it wasn't anything I couldn't deal with easily. My energy is still high and my mood is still good.

Yay me!

We feel more in control of our bodies and our emotions! We gain that strength in knowing we can handle it -- and you definitely did it and are doing it! WOW!! I hope our friends at "Stressed Out Moms" read today's blog -- they're going to love to hear the great news and feel that inspiration! Congrats to you!!!
