After over three weeks of eating mostly healthy food, my emotions got the better of me at my place of employment, and I ended up stuffing my face with things like toasted cheese sandwich, potato chips, and a large bag of popcorn. Let me explain.
Our group home has regular meetings in which all employees are expected and required to attend. Usually the meetings are on Thursday afternoons, and at that time I have no trouble attending them and have not missed a meeting in over three years. An Occupational Therapist was scheduled to come to our group home to discuss the needs of two of our clients last Thursday afternoon. The Occupational Therapist could not come at that time and so the meeting was postponed until the next Thursday morning.
Thursdays and Fridays are my days off, and I do errands, doctors appointments for both myself and my elderly father, food shopping, trips to the vet for my cats, etc. on those days, mostly in the mornings.
When I told my boss that I was unable to attend the Thursday morning meeting because I had to take my elderly father to a doctor's appointment, she became upset with me. I told her and her assistant manager that my family comes first. The assistant manager told me that I had an "attitude problem" and was insubordinate.
You guessed it, when I get upset, I EAT!!!
I will start fresh tomorrow, and try to forget this mess.
