Ups and Downs

I've been noticing this week that I've had some ups and downs in the motivation department. I haven't gone over my calories at all, but I haven't been eating as many fruits and veggies as I would like, and I haven't' been working out a lot this week. I took two days off of actual work outs, and just counted my walking around a lot both those days (because I was walking around a lot haha) as my fitness, which doesn't really feel right to me.

I know that two days off of from the gym isn't bad, that it won't kill me, but it makes me worried when I too easily find reasons not to work out.

I've also not been on my normal schedule AT all this week in terms of sleeping. My normal days are: Wake up at 8, SP it up for about 30-45 minutes, have breakfast, do some wii fit, go to class, come home for lunch break, go back to class, head to the gym, and then come home to cook dinner, then relax with the boyfriend.

My schedule lately has been more: Wake up at 9:30, grab some quick food, head to class, come home for lunch, go back to class, have my friend come over after class, watch horrible tv, think about going to the gym, think about cooking dinner, find other things to eat so when it's time to cook dinner I'm not hungry, etc. etc.

I've just got to get back into the groove of things a bit. But today I woke up at 8:10, which is closer to my normal, and spent some time on here, so maybe I'll be able to throw in a quick wii fit work out before heading off to school.

    I think that tracking your walking on non-gym days is totally valid! Every step you take is literally getting you closer to your goals. You rock! :D

Finding the time out of your schedule to work out is crazy hard when you're in class and doing homework all the time; but you're doing it!

    I think we all have lack of motivation problems. I know I do. I have to sit down and really think about what I want. I want to be healthy... well that means I have to move my booty and eat healthy. Even when I don't want to.

I think you're kicking butt! Just to stick to a eating plan during exams is a real accomplishment!

    Relax girl, just get back to your normal squedule and you'll be fine. Don't torture yourself about it too much!

    You know, I think just the fact that you're so aware of your schedule slipping a bit is just the proof that you're not going to let it slide all the way -- ya know?? Being vigilant about these little changes will help keep you on track. It's PERFECTLY ok to sometimes do as you've been doing lately, but you know that you feel better when you're more on top of things and that is the norm. So by being aware and making sure that the slacker version doesn't become the norm, you're in good shape overall and it's ok to sometimes relax your schedule/eating a bit. :) As long as you don't use those times as an excuse to go haywire! :D hehehe

  I know what you mean about getting your routie all thrown off. But remember you ran a 5k! You have accomplished alot lately and you owe alot of it to your willingness to push yourself. Get up earlier. Don't even watch tv unless you earn it with 30 mins of ddr. Rewarding yourself is fantastic and you arent far off track. Exams will kill your motivation but honestly any excuse not to work as hard as you have been working is just that ....an excuse. You are better than that go gettem girl!

    I find messed up sleep patterns can really mess with my motivation too. Don't worry too much at the mo about not getting to the gym and maybe focus on trying to get the sleeping pattern back to normal. You're motivation will come back up. Routines help sooooo much when the motivation dips. You can do it girl I totally believe in you! Break out those roller blades that's surely gotta be cardio emoticon

    Maybe you can cut your workouts outs more across the day. I do feel if you do some walking then thats something but try to get more in. Park farther. The more you move the around the bette.r Good luck in trying to find that motivation.

    I agree; nicer weather and more daylight has made me feel more inclined to be doing some life stuff and less to hole up in the Y. We just have to make ourselves a priority and keep it interesting!

I'm doing another 10K on the 23rd! Keep thinking about the next goal!

    My motivation is lacking too.. maybe it is the change of season? It will come.. just be confident and believe in your bigger self... zozo
