This week I weighed in with my first loss in what seems likes forever!! While I've been bummin' about not losing weight, I totally didn't realize that I actually HAVE. When I started using sparkpeople.com back in September I weighed 186 pounds, and today I weighed in at 176.6! Slow and steady wins the race :)
I also completed my second 5K last weekend - 4 minutes faster than the 5K two weeks earlier!! I listened to music this time and that's the only thing I can think of that did the trick! I am preparing myself for the 10K in 2 1/2 weeks....eek!
I also have "found" a friend here at school who is trying to get healthy as well. We have similar body shapes, similar goals, and it's just totally awesome to finally have a partner in the same city as me (not that I love all my girls across the country any less!!!). It's just nice to have someone to go to the gym with, and hold me accountable. We actually have started emailing each other each and EVERY night with what we ate all day. So everytime before I eat something, I think "Do I want to tell Katy that I ate this?" :) It's great motivation! And we'll write at 7 pm sometimes, thereby preventing a late night snack because we'd have to email again and tell each other we did it!
Might sound funny, but it's working for us. We are bummed a bit, because we've both been living here down the street from each other for 2 years, and are just starting this now. Katy leaves to go on internship in a couple months. So we'll make the most of it til then!!
I wanted to make this post about accomplishments, because I feel like I've been doing more complaining lately....but we are all doing an awesome job!!! Yay for us!!
