Blah Ville!

Ok, this is my first blog on the Spark People website and I am not exactly sure what to write. I can tell you about my past... I have had gastric-bypass surgery on February 11, 2008 and I have lost about 130 pounds (my biggest was 377) but I have long since stopped losing (I am about 247). It is all on me now. Eating right and exercising are the only things that will take me the rest of the way...

My boyfriend (he is around 206) and I joined the 24 Hour Fitness in Katy, TX and went for seven days straight the first week and loved it doing the classes everyday since he was off work. The second week, we went for five days which is more realistic I think. We are taking off Mondays and Wednesdays so that he can go to school for accounting at DeVry. I am proud of him. We can't really do the classes anymore because he gets off of work so late but we go and do our own thing.

We did not go at all last week because he was sick and still has a lingering cough so we will start back up next week on Tuesday. Who knows, we might try to fit a workout in this Sunday. I think he should be feeling well enough then. Plus, we have two friends (they are a couple also) that usually join us on Sunday for the gym so we look forward to that each week.

I guess I just get mad at myself because I can do so well one week and then totally lose it and suck the next week. It is frustrating because I am doing it to myself. I am my own worst enemy. I just don't 'get' why I do what I do. It might be laziness who knows. Anyway, we will get back into the swing of things soon enough. He really does support and motivate me to go and get in a good workout so it will be fine in the long run. Talk to y'all later...

You're doing great... I think you just have the "all or nothing" mentality and need to try to compromise with yourself. 4-5 times week is still remarkable and you have to take days off to recover. Just don't let yourself feel like you're failing if you don't meet the mark you've set for yourself!
    Love ya girly!

That's wonderful that you joined 24 together! I go to the one on Mason Rd (when I go...haven't been good at that for a while). Make yourself go even for 30 minutes and you may be surprised that the time flies by and you end up doing more. I know, before this rut, I looked forward to going and felt guilty if I didn't. The "high" feeling from working out is great! I hope to get back into the routine soon. No...I WILL get back into it. Good luck and have fun!

P.S. I just got an email from a 24 trainer (Fry Rd) about a charity boot camp on Sat May 16 at Cullen Park 9am. $20 is the minimum donation requested. Funny, she sent it today but asked for RSVPs by Wednesday. I just emailed her back pointing that out. I've used her as a trainer and she's really good. Just thought I'd pass this along in case you're interested. I'll be posting it on Katy Sparkers also.
