Frustrated by my Night Time Eating

Now I'm going to the gym 3-4 times a week and still ZERO progress on the scale. I know my night time eating is the culprit but I can't seem to control it - it controls me. When I am physically tired I feel the NEED to eat. I was tired most of the day yesterday (wore myself out on Tuesday) and knowingly ate things I shouldn't have (potato salad) in an attempt to feel better. A carrot just won't due when I'm feeling like that. I don't know if I can pull myself out of this.

    I know I have had those times. One thing I have been know to do is just go to bed. I have found that it does the trick for me "sometimes." Other times I take a bite of the "forbidden" food. That helps me feel in control.

I am not sure what you are doing diet wise, but it could be that you need a change. It could be you need more of structured plan, it could be you need more of an unstructured plan. But some type of change might be due. I know for me, changing my plan was the best thing I could have ever done. It made a lot of difference in how I have felt, satisfaction wise.

    If I'm hungry at night, I usually cut up an apple with peanut butter. Quite filling.

    I agree with CAZ 100%. I always eat the most at the evening. ANOTHER thing that works for me...I eat ALOT of fiber and make sure to eat fiber and protein approximately every 2 hours. I used to be just like you and eat at night. You CAN do this. It is just the matter of finding the right balance...CAZ and I are both here to help you if you need it! Don't be hard on yourself you are just learning what works and frustrated.

I especially agree with CAZ about not cutting your calories too much...your body will work against you for sure.

    It sounds from reading your other blogs as well as you've not got the balance between exercise and WHAT you eat right and then when you do sit down you haven't enough fuel to sustain you at night- or could it be boredom eating?
Try making your last meal of the day the largest calorie wise and have a serving of wholemeal rice or pasta, or bread and potatoes with a salad.
This will make you feel fuller longer and you'll be less likely to want to snack. Sometimes were tired because we're actually dehydrated so drink some water b4 you resort to munching and if you feel hungry go for things that will boost your energy levels fast like bananas (they are good mood raisers too). This is also a good thing to do b4 and after exercise.
Are you actually eating ENOUGH calories or are you minimizing what you eat in the hope it will give a quicker weight loss- it won't. Your body will think it's being starved and will hold on to fat reserves.

Just some ideas hun, I can tell you are trying so hard and getting frustrated.
