My Daughter...I'm So Proud Of Her!

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

I just want to talk to you about my daughter who is will be a graduate of Bloomfield College on Thursday, May 21, 2009. You can't imagine how proud I am of her! Words can't describe the joy that I have for her! She is 23 yrs young and about to take a big step in life. This girl worked hard to be where she is today. Yes, she'll tell you it was a struggle, but today she is telling me that it was a WELL DESERVED STRUGGLE! Am I tooting my horn? Yes I am!!!! I keep asking myself...how did I do it? How did I keep her on a straight path of life. Informing her that she don't want to work at a dead end job all her life...push for your career. All this time I never thought my children was listening and she is proving me different. Hey if this is the case, I'm going to keep on talking. I know my Mommy is dancing in Heaven, this is her first grandchild to graduate from college. My daughter "Tasha" would look back at her classmates from high school and realize that 1 out of 10 people actually went to college/business school and graduated. Most of them are married with children and Tasha said that she does want to get married and have children but right now she have to concentrate on her books and work and right now don't have time for men. Our town is very small, it consist of approximately 15,000 people. Her graduating class at high school didn't have 200 students.

There is this young gentlemen that is interested in Tasha. He also attends the same college and actually graduates in December 2009. You always want the best for your child(ren). I met him on several occasions and thought they made a perfect couple. He is a respectful young man. He has direction in his life. He is holding down 2 jobs and he likes my daughter. We'll see what happens with that?

But back to Tasha...Monday morning she texted me and informed me that the President of her company offered her a District Manager position. He told her that they had 6 facilities and which one did she want to Manage? She then came to her mom and asked her what should she do.

Correct me if I'm wrong. My oldest brother is a Director at a local hospital, my middle brother is the Plumber at this hospital and my youngest is the HVAC technician at this hospital. They are fighting to get my daughter employed with them because they would receive a $3000 bonus. Thank God she would have a job and not have a degree and can't find one. Well what I am getting at...I would love for her to be a District Manager but would she be utilizing her degree? She can get into the hospital with her Psychology degree "thats what she initially wanted to do" and go back to school "tuition reimbursement to get her Nursing degree.

Tasha intially went to college for Nursing major/Psychology minor. Bloomfield College is a private school where she would have to attend a School of Nursing "I think for 1 year" before finishing up that Nursing degree. Since she could complete her minor thats what she is did. She wants to work in the hospital and once her foot is in the door she is going back to school to either get her Masters in Psychology or her Nursing Degree.

Well what do we tell her job now? She told them yes "for the money" and once my brother get her that position that she went to school for she is leaving the job that she is at now.

Think about me at 9:30am on Thursday, May 21. My baby girl would be walking across the stage receiving her degree. I would be crying a river somewhere out in the audience.

Thanks for reading my blog.

Happy Losing.
