Time...Striving for Passion!

Monday, May 11, 2009

I woke up to the shocking news of the death of a dear neighbor last night. He was 61 and playing with his beagle when a heart attack struck and took him from the world. He will be deeply missed by myself and many, many others.

It is such a sobering smack upside the head when death reminds us that time marches on for us all and while we never know how much time is left, each day that passes is one less day we have to live.

One of my greatest motivators to continue this journey has been to reclaim, celebrate and fire up my life, to live it to the fullest with as much joy and passion as possible. This is one of the greatest tenets of SparkPeople as well and why I love this community as much as I do.

So I ask myself and others here: how have you lived your passion today? What fires have you stoked in yourself, in others? Regardless of our age, the clock is ticking...

Don, even though I sat with my son at his Chemotherapy today, I sure know how precious is for us. I saw so many sick people there today. emoticon

    Don:
I am very sorry to hear of the untimely passing of your friend and neighbor. These events ARE sobering. My best friend growing up died in his sleep of a heart attack last year. He was a year younger than me and I was only 47 at the time. It may well have been the "smack upside the head that drove me to have success this time around.

Yes, the clock is ticking, and we need to make the most of the time we have AND make ourselves healthy enough to extend our time here for as long as possible.

Take Care, and may I offer my sincere condolences.

So sorry to hear about your neighbor. :( I ran today in keeping with my marathon training, which is something I'm feeling very passionate about lately. I also fueled my body with good food and took a step that I have previously not taken yet toward getting my body fat percentage measured. I also took some time to relax this morning which I don't always do. It's been a good day for me.
