I can't call it fun, but it is satisfying

I restarted doing Jillian's 30 day shred dvd 3 days ago, (I was a week into it before when I sprained my ankle - not working out, but by being dumb and not turning on the light ). Anyway - I definitely CANNOT call this fun - but I am getting great satisfaction in accomplishing it. I don't know about other's who have done this - but I am amazed at what a tough 20 minutes this is - it seems to last forever! I have had to modify the program temporarily as to not reinjure myself - instead of jumping jacks and skipping, I am jogging in place but doing the same arm movements as the exercise. Nest week i will try the proper exercises.
Last night, DH and I spent 40 minutes working out together - one on the treadmill, 1 on the elliptical for 20 minutes and then trading for another 20 minutes. It was great - I hope we do this 20 20 date more often!! Now that we have moved back into the house (renos still not finished, but the house is quite liveable now) we are spending more time together. Iti s really nice. Our home gym isn't finished, but we set the equipment up anyway so we can use it. Good stuff! If we can just keep Keith from taking the mats apart and running his hotwheels down the treadmill! LOL

    I've experienced the disappoints of a sprained ankle. Take care of yourself. I got the 30 Day Shred last week. Tonight, I finished day 3. WOW! That's all I can say. It sure is a powerful 20 minutes! I've been doing cardio and weights since last Aug. but this video just proved to me how "lazy" I've been on my workouts. I'm so soar! But I'm looking forward to see the results at the end of 30 days.

    As a person with a permanently swollen ankle due to numerous sprains following an initial bad one and secondary one a few years later. May I say, please take it easy and be careful.

If only I had done the stretches as exercises as recommended when I was young and dumb (24 and again at 29). My ligaments are now so stretched in my left ankle that they can't go back. I turn it over every year or so, and then have to wear the neoprene vase and limp around.

I'm just sayin'.

    Hey there, Kris! I'm with STEPHANIE0904, on the ankle. Even the jog in place is putting strain on the mending. Thank goodness you're not skipping or doing the jumping jacks!! Oh, my word, that would 'do you in' fer sure!! I've never done a Jillian's workout... may have to look one up and give it a try.

How romantic (oh, I know you're gonna' laugh hysterically but...) to exercise together... I don't know... but I'm going to try to see if Clint will, with me... I just find that SEXY (hahahahaha!! call me a nut- won't be the first time... hehe!!) but... two sweeties... workin' out... gettin' all sweaty... yeah... oh, yeah!! emoticon

I have an extra bedroom that I'm converting into an exercise room. We have a 'bonus' room over the garage... has it's own private bath and walk-in closet, that we'll finish for Jori's teen suite this summer, sooo... we'll take her old bedroom and convert it into a place to work out. When we bought this house (almost 2 yr ago) I thought it was too big for us. NOT!! hehe!!

Well, Kris... I'm outta' here, girlfriend. Oh! I do like how you called 'it' your 20 20 date!! I'll tell Clint, that I want to go on a 20 20 date!! BRILLIANT!!

    Ouch - sounds like something I would do - yes, they call me Grace. I hope you heal quickly. It sounds like you have a plan to continue doing your DVD. Be careful not to push it too hard or quickly next week. That's great that the two of you work out together. Kenyon will walk with me but that's as for as I see if going.
