This Sunday is Mother's Day.
It's a special day set aside to recognize our Mom's and all they have done for us.
Growing up, I didn't always appreciate what my Mom was trying to teach me to help me grow and be a good person.
As a teenager, like most teenagers, I thought I knew everything and had all the answers. Boy was I wrong!
As I became an adult and matured over the years, things started to click. Maybe Mom really did know what she was talking about. And although, I didn't appreciate her wisdom and not so subtle guidance as a child, to me she was strict and mean, I am so thankful for it now.
She taught me to be respectful, thoughtful, caring, and kind. To treat others the way I want to be treated.
Thank you Mom!
So, to all the Mom's out there, Sunday is your extra special day!
Know that it's ok to not be your child's best friend all the time, but it is very important to be a parent to that child all the time. They may get mad at you and think your the worst person ever but believe me, even if they don't appreciate it now, they will later. It will dawn on them what you were trying to instill in them.
So to all the Mother's out there, Happy Mother's Day!
You deserve your day!
