Oh no! Shin splints

Sunday, April 19, 2009

I woke up this morning and realized that I have shin splints. I thought my legs were hurting a little during my walk yesterday but, I told myself it was just a walk and shouldn't hurt. Besides my friend had a birthday and I promised her I would care for her horse..including walking him a few miles. I had just run (well for me) a hard 3 miles the day before.
This morning I realized it wasn't just sore muscles from a hard work out but shin splints.. ...maybe I should have just taken the day off.
It's depressing to try and push yourself and then end up not being able to even go out for a walk. I've been researching what to do for shin splints on the web this morning. Guess I need to go take some motrin.
At lease my friend got to enjoy herself with her husband on her birthday and not worry about her horse.

At least you were out walking.
Keep walking just slow down a little.
The shin splints will go away.
    I have had them before.
