Too much going on in my life again, I am a little behind on blogging.

Wednesday, Got up at 2 am with Dwayne. Dwayne, Zach and I went to do the paper route. Got done in time to drop Zach off at day care at 5:30 am. Then we headed to Dwayne's second job. He had to be there by 6 am. Dropped Dwayne off at work and I headed home. I was going to try to sleep for a couple of hours and then get up and go look for cars.

I got up around 8, got shower and headed out. I was on my way to the car lot and I called my mechanic to see if he could look at a couple of cars for me today. Unfortunately he was booked solid today. So I decided to go to work, since I had to pick up my last 2 check stubs and find some paperwork in my desk that I needed for my application at the car lot. I got to visit with a bunch of my co workers while I was there. A couple of people said that I looked great. I looked like I had lost some weight. I told them 14 lbs so far. They said they could tell in my face. I wasn't sure if they were just being nice or really could notice. My boss, Paul, said that he really missed me and wanted to know when I would be back at work. He would do what ever he had to accommodate me so I could come back as soon as possible. He would get me a cot in my office to rest if needed. I was laughing and I told him it would be soon enough. Time flew by and I had to leave or I was going to be late for my check up with Dr. Credi.

I had about a 45 minute drive from my work to the doctor's office so I decided that I would call Erika back since she had called while I was at work and I told her I would call her back when I was in route to doctor's office for my appointments. We had lots to talk about. I was hoping to get on to the next phase from liquids to purees. I was so done with only liquids 5 weeks of it and was definitely ready for a change. Erika helped me come up with some really good questions for Julie, my dietitian. She was also teasing me to tell Julie that she didn't want to mess with Erika if she didn't put me to the next level of foods.

I arrived for my 2 week post op check up. I had to fill out a questionnaire and then Taran took me back. First she weighed me (again, I just weighed in on Monday) and I was 263.5, lol, 1 lb less than on Monday when I weighed in at 264.5. Then she took my vitals and I was ready for Dr. Credi. A few minutes later he came in. Looks at my results and then had me get up on the table to check me out. Everything was looking good. He took off the terry strips that were at all my incision sites and look at my drain site. He said everything looked good and I was a good (I think) model patient. Now what could he do for me. I asked him if I could go back to work then, he said let's give it 2 more weeks and then I could go back to work.

So out to the waiting area I went. I was going to see Julie next. But I was a little early. While I was in the waiting area I saw my surgery buddy's dad there and we started talking. Steven had surgery the same day that I had mine. He was doing very good, he lost 24 lbs in the first 2 weeks after surgery. 10 more lbs than I did. But he was having a little difficulty controlling his sugar. Then Steven came into the lobby, he was just meeting with Julie. I briefly talked with him and I told him that if he needed a ride to support group I would be happy to come and pick him up for it. His dad had mentioned that he was having some mechanical trouble with his car. So we will see if he calls me or not.

Next I met with Julie, my dietitian. I was patiently waiting for her to tell me that I was ready to move onto the next level of food. Woohoo ! ! ! she said those magical words.....Kat you are onto phase 2. She started naming off some of the foods I was going to be able to eat (actually chew) and I was like "I love you, I love you, omg, I love you" She was laughing at me. I told her I was going crazy on liquids. That I had snuck and had some mashed potatoes on Monday. She was like not good, but okay. I could have picked something worse to cheat on. No she was not giving me the okay that I was bad. Anyway onto the foods I can now have......eggs, smooth yogurt, sugar free/fat free pudding, low fat cheeses, low fat Ricotta cheese, low fat cottage cheese (small curd), all types of beans (blended), smooth peanut butter, tuna, salmon.....just to name a few. Omg, I was so excited. And the list is actually bigger, I just named a few of the items.

After my appointments, I headed to Dwayne's work to pick him up, then we headed to day care to pick Zach up. Then we had to head over to the salvage yard to pay for the tow for Dwayne's car. Since by now it was well after 5:30 and everyone was starting to get hungry and it would still be a couple of hours before we would get home. So we decided to stop by some fast food places to get something to eat. Zach got chicken nuggets, fries and chocolate milk from McDonald's. I told Dwayne to stop by Taco Bell for me, I thought I could get some pintos and cheese. Dwayne got a couple of Tacos. I wasn't sure how much I could eat so I decided to only eat half of it. It was pretty good and I didn't have any reactions.

We got to the Salvage yard where Dwayne's car had been towed. We had 2 choices with respect to the car. One was pay $186 for the tow and get reimbursed $40/ton for scrap OR pay $30 for tow and sign the title of the car over to them. Well that didn't take long to decide. We decided on the second option. After we signed over the title we went out to the car to get all of our stuff out of the car. Then we headed home for the night. We all went to bed early that night it had been a long day.

Take Care and God Bless ! ! !
