The challenge was to write about a problem area. Well, that would be evening eating for me. Come around 4pm until bedtime, I could eat all night. I have learned to substitute lower calorie, healthy things but it remains my trouble area. I've found that I can resist treats at work and provide myself sensible portions at meals but in the evening...wow.
I still eat all evening. I'll have an apple, then a low carb tortilla with peanut butter and raisins. Then a Vitamuffin. Then maybe some cereal with light soy milk. But it's rather constant and I find I'm always thinking about what I can eat next. The food tracker is INVALUABLE in this because I can enter what I just ate and see how many calories I have left. I have been successful in shutting myself off when I see the calories reach my limits. I imagine that without the food tracker, though, I'd just keep eating and fooling myself about the amount I really consumed. I'm sure that is how I gained all my weight in the first place.
So thank God for the Food Tracker!!
