I've Been Debating

Wednesday, April 15, 2009

Yes, I know that I should be strong and do this on my own. But I am tempted to get back on Nutrisystem for this last 17 lbs. I did that for the first few months and lost consistently. However, it's expensive and I should just get it out of my mind and do this independently - especially since I now have this great site and so many wonderful, supportive friends.

I never tried Nutrisystem but I've tried Weight Watchers, Medical Weight Loss, and though I lost a lot with MWL it was unsustainable because the restrictions were so low that once it was over I couldn't sustain it. It's always so tempting to go for a quicker fix. If you can do it on your own and make it a lifestyle I bet the loss will be easier to maintain.
Good luck! 17 pounds is very attainable. You can do it.

I'm of like mind with LPIFER in that Nutrisystem isn't something that's meant to be used forever. Years ago - in a distant galaxy far away, before the advent of Splenda - I lost 65 lbs. and maintained that loss for several years (it's the best I've ever done). My maintenance diet was identical to what I ate 'til I reached my goal - with a few calories added. That made for an easier transition in the long run. Good luck to you as you decide - and emoticon on having only 17 lbs. left! - Sara emoticon

You can't do Nutrisystem forever - might as well do the healthy foods now. I'm doing the Slim Fast plan and am trying to "wean" myself off for that very reason!

Congrats on getting to that last 17lbs!!!

Are you trying to talk yourself into it or out of it?

I think using whatever tools work for you is fine but if the expense is a question I believe that this program will get you there. I do think that this is the only program for me that I could continue maintenance when I reach my goal. You are so close, best wishes to you! emoticon
