I'm tired of being an adult!

Monday, April 13, 2009

So things have not been good. I have not worked out in two weeks. I haven't been to WW in I don't know how long. On April 1 my mom was put in the hospital in Kansas, almost dead from dehydration! They took care of that, but her white blood cell count was too low and they couldn't figure out why. So they sent her down here. They did a bone marrow biopsy on her on the 8th. On the 10th, they said it looks like non hodgkin's lymphoma (she also has 4 nodules on her thyroid and high blood sugar, but that is the least of her worries). Then they sent her home with us to follow up with the cancer doc. She goes back Wednesday morning.

During all of this we do an OT eval on Kaelyn. Find out she is much more delayed than we thought. They want to stop PT and do OT 4 times a month. Find out this morning that the director of ECI doesn't agree with that plan. So I call our service coordinator and say we want to do that. If they don't, then we'll fight that battle.

Still haven't heard from the doctors in Dallas to schedule Kaelyn's heart procedure, which is frustrating us.

Did get my triglycerides lowered to 333 (from 1200!). But I haven't worked out and haven't tracked my food and just haven't taken care of myself. I hope I can get back on track soon, but doubt it with taking care of my mom on top of my already busy life!!!

Wow - that is a lot to deal with! I hope things start getting better for you - you must be terribly stressed (and that is an understatement!) My thoughts are with you! emoticon

You're right. Being an adult sucks! Try to take care of yourself. Take it one day at a time. I know it seems like you're being selfish if you take time to exercise but it's not. Unfortunately, you've got a lot of people depending on you. You need to keep up your health, mental and physical. Taking the time, even if it's 10 minutes, to exercise you'll relieve some stress and be able to think a little more clearly. I hope you don't mind if I say a prayer....

Dear God, we know not what lies ahead but we do know that you are with us every step of the way. It is my desire that this family feels your presence in spite of what they are having to endure. I pray that health is restored for MLKDUD's mom and the path for Kaelyn's heart procedure is clear. Through you we know that all things are possible. emoticon

UGH!!! I'm sorry you have so much going on. I find that when things are crazy stressful that is when I need to exercise the most. It makes me feel so much better.

To be a kid again..no worries except not wanting to go to bed at night. Those were the days right. Now it's the total opposite. We want to eat our food and want to take our naps and go to bed=) lol.

    Try to take care ok.

AWW emoticon You have a lot on your mind today. I hope tomorrow looks better for you. I sometimes just have to write a list of positive things when I have too many real negative things thrown at me @ one time. But I know what you mean...I want to be a kid again many days! Hang in there...
