Enhancements to our Reports tab - including new reports!

Thursday, April 09, 2009

Hi everyone

We're happy to announce the launch of a number of enhancements to our reports. These can all be accessed by going to the My Tools tab and then selecting Reports.

This new page puts all our reports in one place and also features reformatted versions of all our reports. The new formatting includes includes making it easier to set date ranges. For example you used to just be able to say "Show me the past 2 months," you could now say "show November 2008 through January 2009."

The biggest enhancement though is adding new reports, including:
  • Two different reports showing calories eaten verses calories burned. One report shows a day at a time, and the other shows progress over time. Please note the disclaimers on these reports noting that calories burned can sometimes be rough estimates.
  • Daily calorie breakdown report, showing which foods contributed the most calories
  • A chart showing total SparkPoints by month
  • Report of members who you referred to join SparkPeople
  • Several new ways to view your fitness progress
These enhancements have been requested for some time by our members so we are very happy to make them available! Please leave a comment here if you have any questions.

Thanks for the new reports. I haven't been to the reports page in a while because I didn't find all that much helpful there before. If I hadn't come to the SparkGuy_SPTeam page, I wouldn't have known they were there. Glad I did. I'll be coming to the reports page more often now.

Ditto what SimSweet said two comments down. The line graph makes (weigh lost progress)it hard for me to see patterns in my weight loss, like plateaus during the same week of the month, how many pounds I lost each week. I've had to track that on my kitchen calendar. THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO!!!

What I'd like to see on the Nutrition Report is a breakdown of all the foods by their content. For example, in the pie chart, if I drink three glasses of milk, I would like to see 1 large "pie section" of milk instead of 3 small ones. If this is at all possible, I think it would be helpful. Overall, the SparkPeople reports are a tremendous help in analyzing how much we eat, and I thank you for creating SparkPeople and for continually improving it.

I need to see a posting of weight loss todate which includes weight loss each week and todate. Is this possible, it's a motivator for me and I'm sure to others as well if we can see total pounds lost each weigh in.

Another innovative idea from SPARK People. Way to go and thanks a bunch! I've been tracking all these things on my own since I found out I was a diabetic a couple of years ago. I have watched my A1c level go down with diet and exercise while tracking it through spreadsheets I made myself. This makes it easier and is so great for people like me, I can't thank you enough.-Lydia

Yay spark! This is awesome because lately in my network of friends ppl have been calculating BRM, cals eaten and cals burned -- just like your reports do! But now it'll be super easy haha plus I don't love math. :) Thanks!!

BLESSFULLMOON, you can now run your weight report for "all time," so not just a year. Hope that helps!

The changes are excellent! Also for some reason, I was unable to view the old reports at work due to weird firewalls... now I can see them!!

I liked the old setup much better actually, though it is convenient to have them all in one spot, now I can't see all my weight progress!!! I liked how before I could see all the way I've come, now it's limiting me to the past year! is there any way you could either remove that time constraint? or at least give us the option to choose which version we prefer? and also, the graphs are much smaller now, though I can live with the size if I can manage to see my entire progress. I really do like to see from what I'm coming from, it helps me stay focused. I hope that's possible, and thanks for your constant hard work

Great! I'm especially excited about being able to see my calorie intake versus calories burned. The charts have helped me more than any one thing in SP. I don't know why, but nothing is more motivating to me than being able to compare my dots over time. Thanks Again!

I love the website and the accountability that it offers. However, I usually use this website during my breaks and lunch time since I do not have a computer @ home. So I am unable to log in a lot of the food tracking etc as I am doing it the following day. Weekends will be gone also. Is there a way to log this info in the following day????. emoticon

Very cool!! I can already see that the times I was on a Plateau or just not losing any weight consistently were times my nutrition/exercise differential was higher than (-200) on average. Nice diagnostic tool!! Thanks, SparkTeam!!
