I have been working out for 25 years~ pretty much since my early 20's. At a certain point, it was so ingrained in my day that I couldn't imagine my life without it.
I think I became addicted to the endorphins. I really need them to keep my moods on an even keel.
I also found activities that aren't boring or monotonous that I look forward to doing. I don't think anyone can stick with a workout routine they detest. You have to find a positive aspect in it or there is no payoff for your mind or body.
