New Grandbaby

Saturday, March 28, 2009

On March 25th I was a grandma again. I now have 3 Granddaughters. Madeline Jean was born at 8:15 by c-section. She was 8 lbs. 14 oz and 21 in long. Whew glad she didn't try and do that naturally. Her mom had a scare during delivery. Her blood pressure shot up to 257/153. They had to give her meds to bring it down. Then she also had an allergic reaction to the epideral. The baby's blood sugar was only 18 when she was born so they had to bring her sugar up. They were concerned she wouldn't eat and would have to put a line in... but she ate 2 oz. LOL guess she worked up an appetite. Her sugar levels were fine by the afternoon and they are holding well. Mom is also doing fine. They both came home Friday. My daughter hates hospitals and conned her dr into letting her go home early. I have been keeping the other two. Tomorrow I am taking them home and then I am going to stay and help her for awhile. I am not sure how long I will be there.
HUGS, Kathy
