I was down and out for about 6 or more weeks due to my previous knee injuries (yes, both knees) rearing their ugly head. I am in the midst of training for the San Diego Rock and Roll marathon. It is hard to train when you can barely walk without pain. I went to the doctor and he said it was an overuse injury and to just stay off of it for awhile. That wasn't acceptable to me but taking it easy and walking instead of running was an acceptable alternative. I cut down on all running and focused on strength training and other forms of cardio. I am happy to report that I was able to run/walk 14 miles this weekend...wait for it......WITHOUT PAIN!!!! WHOOOO HOOO!!!! I am sooo excited and feeling happier than ever because I have been given the gift of running back. I need to take it easy and go slowly but I can run again!!! Celebrate with me!!!
