I am an accountant; I love to count...I even keep one of those stat books when I go to a baseball game to count pitches (my son is a pitcher). That is why Sparkpeople has worked so well for me. I faithfully count my water, my calories, my fitness and my weight.
I also LOVE to be challenged, which is why I signed up for the Spring into Summer Challenge. I lost 80 pounds 5 years ago (my highest weight was about 224, that I know of) and slowly put back on half. I did have health issues, but I now know that was probably just an excuse. My office put out a weight loss challenge last August that ran through January. We were on teams and my team of four lost 93 pounds...19 of those were mine! Three of us were using Sparkpeople. The best part is that we beat out 92 other teams and won first place...the prize being $500 per team member. While on that challenge, my motto was that I want to be the "Hot Mom" at my sons HS graduation in May.
What I would love to gain from this challenge is a fun way to lose my last 8 pounds; and friends that will keep me going strong when I start the hardest part of this journey...maintenance. I can lose the weight...I have to fight harder to keep it off.
