1st Time Fell Off Wagon Yesterday-Emotional Eating

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

Well, I didn't see it coming at all. It's been a stressful time for me, but I've been doing great since last October! But last night, WOWWWWWW! I found Cracker Jacks that a friend had in the cabinet. Once I started, I didn't stop. It was pathetic. My body rejected it immediately and rewarded me with a huge stomachache and then I dreamt of candy all night and in my dream thought, "well, since I've blown it, this is a slippery slope." Honestly, I don't even like candy that much and have not had cravings since October! But, you know, I'm going to advise myself the way I would my friends and say to be kind, gentle and brush myself off to get back in the groove. And tough love in letting my psyche know that kind of eating is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Happy St. Patty's Day to all and a huge hug. emoticon

How's it going today so far?
I saw you wrote you're in a minor slump. Yesterday I ate more than I intended to as well. It's change. I know what it is at least.
Today...so far so good. I hope the same applies to you.

Wow! I fell off today. I ate a HUGE piece of homemade pistachio cake with cream frosting. I think I am depressed because I am teetering between a 4-5 pound weight loss in a month. I may have to resort to drastic measures....have jaw wired shut, have all teeth pulled, join the Marines, become a female monk(!), volunteer in a 3rd world country where NONE of the food is safe, go on a water and lettuce diet....mmmmm. I have already eaten all my calories for today. It's going to be a long afternoon and evening. Hugs, Pam emoticon

I agree with Raven ... we all have stressful times and sometimes we just have to give in. The trick is to make sure it's a rare occurrence and get back in the program as soon as possible. Sounds like you've done that so more power to you.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
