Updating my Spark Page
Tuesday, March 17, 2009
So I thought it time for me to update my spark page and get back down to business! I have moved all my updates to this blog and in the future all my updates will be blogs. I will use my page for my fitness and nutrition and over all inspirations. It is kinda neat to read through where I have been and where I am going. When I look at the list at the end I still have some work to do. Like I said it is time to get serious again.

Hi my name is Toni. I recently quit smoking (Yeah for Me!) but gained 40 pounds in doing so. I was 20 pounds over weight as it was, so this did not help. Now that I am over the major hurdles of quiting smoking, I am ready to concentrate on my weight and have a new totaly healthy life!

That was then...
While I am still darn proud of my accomplishment of quitting smoking, After being on SP for the last 6 weeks, my thoughts toward being healthy have increased so much. When I started this journey it was to lose the weight. It still is, don't get me wrong, but along the way I have learned the importance of permenant life changes. I have made some really good friends on SP and have a tremendous support system. Thank You All of You!
I am going to list my goals. Make them reachable. and celebrate my accomplishments one at a time. One day at at time! Though I have worked really hard not to have any bad days.. it is inevitable. Just got to rememeber to brush it off and keep going. Don't give into the old feelining of well I blew it... might as well wait until I can do this right for good.
September 28, 2008 -
WOW - over 30 pounds gone forever. I am half way to my original goal of 60 pounds. As I go on this journey, I now feel that when I reach that goal, I will go farther.
With the winter months coming up fast, I hope that I am able to stay active enough to keep it going. I have re-evaluated my exercise program for the winter and feel that I will be able to control it. I have the treadmill, so even if outdoor conditions do now allow me to take me walks, I can on the treadmill. So there will be no excuses on not doing it. In fact I am hoping to beable to increase my speed and time over the winter. Get more running in and build up my time there as well. So there we have it, my winter goal is to remain active and increase my activity levels. Now that it is down for all to see, I know I will stick to it. Again Thank you all for your support and encouragement. We are all in this together.

Wow... 6 months! Alot has happened in 6 months. The most important is my health. I have had some minor set backs these past few weeks, but determined to get back at it. I know the holidays are upon us... not the best time of year for remashing the button, but yet the best time of year. I have to stay in control. I will succeed. Though I have had my set backs, I will not let it stop me. In the past I would have given up, not now. That is one of the most important lessons I have learned these past 6 months. Every day is a new day! We don't give up, we just get up and keep going! Thank you Spark People for teaching me that. Thank you to all my wonderful friends here on SP that help me daily with your inspiration and commintment. We are all in this together. We are all Worth it!

One of my main goals for 2009 is to be able to run in a 5K race/run. Everyday I am improving my time and distance and can push myself even harder. I have had some of the usual set backs that many of us encounter... Illness (cold and flu season), Planter Facitis (slowed me down but did not stop me!), Teeth... but through it all I have stayed active and accountable and that my friends is due in part to you! Your constant encouragement and support has seen me through it all!
So here are the numbers that start out 2009...

Waist - 33"
Chest - 42"
