Week 1

So this concludes My First Official Week on Spark People (3/9/09 - 3/16/09)

Although I have technically been with Spark People since Dec 12th, I was on one day, felt overwhelmed, and didn't come back again (until now).

I started my Weight Loss journey at the Beginning of January -

1. Joining Fit Zone (gym),
2. Increasing my vegetable and fruit consumption,
3. Kicked cakes and cookies out of my diet (unless i'm treating myself),
4. Only drinking water(no more juices or sodas)

I felt like I was doing great on my own, and I was tracking the exercise, time, and calories for every day that I went to the gym. I felt that I still needed something to fully keep me accountable to my goals. Then I remembered this site.

I'm pretty excited that I tracked my food and exercise on Spark People for an entire week. I was able to stay under my allowed calories, and I burned more then suggested "calories needed to be burned" for the week. I was pretty excited about that.

It was hard to understand the different parts of the site at first, but after a week I really think I got a hang of this site(although there is always more to learn).

I can't wait to make more friends and have people to encourage and be encouraged by. I have joined a few different Spark Teams that have similar goals or intrests as I do. We shall see if they help. I did like the little welcome messages I got on my Spark Page, they made me smile. It's always nice to know that you have other people on the same journey as you are.

So to date- I've lost 12 pounds. 12 pounds that I can happily say goodbye to... And will not allow it to return.. no matter how much they miss me!!!!

Ultimately I'm in this for the long run. I hopeing to make the right choices now, so that in the future I can enjoy having the body that I so desire. I want to lead a healthy life. I want to change my life now, so that in the future it won't be a matter of loosing weight, but a matter of maintaining a healthy body. I want to set a good example to those around me. I want to be the best wife I can possibly be for my husband, and to one day, be the best mother I can be for my children. The choices I make today effect my future. I realize that more and more as everyday goes by.
