When I started this one week ago, I said that I wasn't really trying to lose weight, but more focused on getting healthy. Well I quickly realized that getting rid of some of this extra baggage is part of the process. So I've been watching the numbers on the scale go down and feeling good that my pants are starting to feel a little bit looser.
Well, today I got on the scale and it's a pound above where I started. Granted, I started at 158, dropped to 155 and today am at 159. Now, I have been walking 40-60 minutes every day and have been eating between 1200-1500 calories, so I know this has to be water retention, but man it's hard to watch the number go back up.
Yet, It's just a number, I am going to keep doing my thing and everything else will fall in line. As a matter fact, what I love about thinking out loud and processing things through this blog is that it helps me to develop new goals.
So my new goal starting right now is to banish the scale, and to only pull it out on Mondays. After all, the number is just a number, and if I am watching my food and my exercise, the peaks and valleys between numbers should even out, and eventually that number will go down!
So, Bye, Bye, scale until next week and that's one less daily thing to think about.
