Time Trial #1

Ok, two weeks until my very first 5K race. I wanted to get an idea of what I was up against, so I did my first of three "time trails" this morning. I can run 3.1miles (5K) in 31:08. Not too bad since I haven't run in almost 3 weeks.
I'll do another trial next Saturday (1 week out) and the third the Thursday before the race. I would like to get my time under 30 minutes (29:59 counts).

On a side note for my blog readers. The last three days I've gotten in some good workout and have been feeling much more positive. You all were right, I just needed to give myself a little more time. Thank you so much for all your kind words of support, I wouldn't, no couldn't be doing all this without you all.

    Under 30 minutes in your first race would be awesome and I have no doubt you'll be able to achieve it too!

    You are doing great. I have been working on my intervals to try to get to 30mins for a 5k and you are a whole heck of a lot better (but then you are many years younger also). Where is your 5k. My daughter and I are considering the butterfly run.

    Hey, there, Bloggin' Bouncer...good morning! I'm glad to hear that you're fully back on the upswing from your bout with the flu! We all knew you'd be there when your strength came back! Although I was liking being ahead of you on fitness points, I knew it was an illusion...haha. I look forward to seeing you reach your time goal...go, go, go!
