Taking a Few Days Off

Friday, March 13, 2009

I'm taking a few days off the Spark routine to rest up and - hopefully - get some energy back! I have some allergies that wipe me out every spring, and the early time change has made them worse this year. Even tracking things on Spark and responding to messages is a drain right now, so I'll do what I can and then get back to the routine when I feel better.

Just last week, I could spend 20 minutes or longer at a time walking on the treadmill; yesterday, it was all I could do to last 4 minutes!

I have Stage IV Sarcoidosis, and, although it's in remission, the damage it has done to my lungs is permanent. Sometimes, I just get tired and have to pretty much stop everything until I get some energy back. I'll be following the nutrition plan, so who knows, I may even lose some weight doing nothing but the daily household chores. The thing is - I've been through this before; I know what I need to do, and I know my situation will get better and I'll be back on track soon.

Lou - sorry to hear that you're feeling a little under the weather.
I was worried because I hadn't seen any posts from you (I missed your blog yesterday for some reason).
Hope you're back on your feet quickly and I hope you've been enjoying the sunshine.

Sorry to hear that your allergies are acting up! I hate that more than anything! My mom has Sarcoidosis! I have never met or talked to anyone with it before that has had it or has even heard of it. Most people are like what the heck is that?! It is hard to deal with and I hope it stays in remission. But it sounds like you are not letting anything stop you from reaching your goals! Keep up the great work!
