FINALLY MADE MY DECISION -- HOPE IT IS RIGHT

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

I WAS PONDERING ON THE DECISION IF I SHOULD QUIT TOP ALL TOGETHER OR JOIN ANOTHER CHAPTER. IN MY LAST COUPLE BLOGS I ASK FOR YOUR HELP IN MAKING MY DECISION. ALL OF YOUR ANSWERS WERE VERY HELPFUL AND MADE ME DO ALOT OF THINKING. I THOUGHT I HAD FINALLY MADE MY DECISION. I WAS GOING TO LEAVE TOPS FOR A WHILE, BUT KEEPING MY INTERNATIONAL DUES PAID SO I WOULDN'T LOSE MY KOPS STATUS. EVERYTHING WAS SETTLED, I KNEW WHAT I WAS GOING TO DO.

I WALKED INTO THE MEETING THAT MONDAY NIGHT KNOWING WHAT I WAS GOING TO DO. I GAVE THE WEIGHT RECORDER A BIG HUG AFTER SHE WEIGHED ME AND TOLD HER GOOD BYE BECAUSE I WAS LEAVING TOPS. IT WAS A SHOCK TO HER. I LEAD THE MEETING AND STARTED THE ELECTIONS. I ASKED FOR NOMINATIONS FOR LEADER AND I WAS THE FIRST ONE NOMINATED AND I GRACEFULLY DECLINED. I HAD TO BECAUSE I WAS LEAVING THE CHAPTER. THEN IT WAS TIME TO ASK FOR NOMINATIONS FOR CO-LEADER AND AGAIN I WAS THE FIRST ONE NOMINATED. ALL OF A SUDDEN I PAUSED. I THOUGHT IF I DECLINED THIS NOMINATION I WAS RUNNING AWAY FROM MY PROBLEMS AND THE CHAPTER WOULDN'T GET ANY BETTER. I KNEW AT THAT SECOND THAT IF I WAS GOING TO GROW I HAD TO STAY AND FACE MY DEMONS THAT WERE IN THE CHAPTER. ALL OF A SUDDEN OUT OF MY MOUTH I ACCEPTED THE NOMINATION WITH OUT A MOMENTS THOUGHT. AT THAT MOMENT I FELT THAT TREMENDOUS WEIGHT LIFTED OFF OF MY SHOULDERS. THEN I WAS UNANIMOUSLY ELECTED CO-LEADER. I KNEW I HAD MADE THE RIGHT DECISION.

WITH THIS I WANT TO THANK EVERY ONE OF YOU, EITHER ON THIS BLOG OR ON THE POSTS OF MY TOPS AND KOPS TEAM. I KNOW I CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON MY FRIENDS AT SPARKS TO GIVE ME THEIR TRUE OPINIONS FOR ME TO USE TO MAKE ANY DECISION IN MY LIFE. YOU ARE MY TRUE BEST FRIENDS, THANK YOU AGAIN AND I HOPE SOME DAY I CAN GIVE YOU THE SUPPORT YOU NEED.

GOD BLESS

Sharon, I am late like usual on the boards, but I think you have made a great decision. I found out a long time ago, you can't run from your problems, they have a tendency to follow/stay with you. I wish you the best this coming year with your team. Linda Kay

From your blog about being nominated I see that you have a wonderful support group from Sparks. It sounds like the TOPS group would miss your presence!! Sometimes we have to let things go before we see what they mean to us. I am so happy for you that you made the decision to stay. Don't forget to take care of yourself first! With Sparks and TOPS you can't go wrong!!

Sharon, I have made decisions based on lots of thinking; also spur of the moment. One decision I made SOM is not to go back to school for a degree. Why? I am happier now than I was when trying to go to school. Yes I am an unpaid volunteer, but (I found out Monday) that the kids I work with all love how I teach.Thats the important part. Are u happy with a decision? Will it benefit you? Then do it! Keep up the good decision making. Laurie

Sharon, sometimes that instinctive gut feeling that makes us do something we were unsure of, is the best thing we can do for ourselves. Blessings in your continued journey as co leader of your teams and prayers that they team uphold their responsibilities to make your job a bit easier.
