Monday is my Purgatory, correcting for the sins of the weekend. Today's penance was typical: Two 45-minute video workouts, followed by 20 minutes of Pilates. Another 10 minutes of splitting wood adds up to 2 hours (worth 14 miles on the TOPS Trek!).
Just took my measurements--no change from last month. Poop.
However, I am down two pounds for the month, 3.5 for the year. That's better.
Oh, and one good thing! My church had a tree-planting day on Saturday, and of course, my pastor's husband was out there taking pictures. Well, Sunday morning, there it was in the slide show (literally in front of God and everybody), my rear end! And it wasn't so awful. But the best part was, in the group shot, I don't see my fat face. It's a slimmer face. Wow. The big fat chin is gone.
I will continue with my weekly workout plan, as follows:
5 Cardio sessions, minimum 45 minutes each
3 Pilates sessions, 20 minutes each
2 Strength Training sessions, 15-20 minutes each
Next week will be difficult, since I will be driving to Census training five days, 90 minutes each way. I'm not sure where I'll find the time. Maybe squeeze in a few short walks instead of the videos. I really don't want to get up at 5:00 to exercise.
Oh, about those evil squats and lunges. I modified my workout so I wasn't doing more than one quad strength exercise in a day, and walking was much easier afterward. I've cut back the strength training to twice a week, and do both upper- and lower-body exercises. Pilates takes care of the core, and it makes me feel so good!
I finished my TOPS chapter's "Winter Freeze your Buns Off Contest," and actually won this time! I've never won any of my own contests before, probably because I pick challenges I really need to work on. Anyhow, I had bought these really cute snowflake votives for prizes, and really, really wanted to keep one! So I made myself earn it.
Next Contest will involve teams, and keeping an exercise journal. Stay tuned.
