Setbacks

Tuesday, February 24, 2009

I have always been a girl that thrives on challenge. I tend to put way too much on my plate just to see if I can be superwoman and accomplish it all. I have been known to wait till the last minute to finish my school assignments or work assignments just because I get a thrill out of the challenge.

However, when it comes to my body I am not so embracing of challenges and not with setbacks. I really need to see results in order to keep going and get over humps, and setbacks are difficult for me to deal with.

With all of that said, I have learned how my body responds to things and that it often takes a while of me working my tail off before I see results so I keep pushing through knowing the setback is only temporary.

Sparkpeople is great for motivating me by showing me that others preserver through these setbacks and so can I. Thanks to all the wonderful people at Spark.

Oh man.I can so relate to you.Haha.I work exactly the same way unfortunately.I too try to put way too much on my plate and wait until the last minute, thinking I am super woman also. Then when I fall short of getting everything accomplished that I wanted I get really discouraged also. The main thing for me is not letting my setbacks completely discourage me and to just keep trying to plug away at it.

Keep that positive attitude. In the end, meeting your weight loss goals will be that much more rewarding because you will have known that you really worked hard and fought to be where you are at. :)

Just sharing information can sometimes help get you back on track. I find just writing about one of my problems helps to make me feel better too. You certainly have the right attitude. One setback doesn't shut down the journey. Just get up, dust off and continue on. You will get there with that attitude.

SP is my safe place. When I find myself wanting to give up because of lack of results, I always come here to look at other people's pages for inspiration.

You're doing an amazing job!! Setbacks are just nature's way of making us appreciate it when things go well.
