An exercise in frustration.

Why? Why do I read and post on the regular Diet and Nutrition board? WHY?

It's self torture, plain and simple. A vast majority of the time I'm going to disagree with everyone and everything because most everyone is going to go with the mainstream politically correct rhetoric or else far off in a strange equally incorrect direction. So, it's just stupid to go there...yet I do it.

I disagreed with someone's comment that folate is natural and folic acid is artificial. I was like "...BUH?" Turns out the Mayo Clinic, of all places, is spouting this drivel. I disagreed, linking to both wikipedia and SP's vitamin primer on folic acid, and somehow today my comment is gone. What? And one of the official SP bods had replied and basically backed up what I said. So...why was my comment taken down? Was I too inarticulate? Why wasn't the comment with the wrong info taking down, too?

Okay, time to just /stop/ and only post to my precious Nourishing Traditions spark team. Even though two people have thanked me for steering them in another direction, I just need to stop.

That is really disturbing -- I am not surprised that your comment was removed from the board, although it doesn't make that fact less frustrating.

It goes to show you who thinks they run the show in the nutition world. Sally Fallon has argued many times that the 'diet dictocrats' are scared of counter-information. You can see that even here on Sparkpeople. It's no joke. There's a disease out there contaminating people who want easy answers, who want to believe that those with power speak the truth, and who will adhere to anything that bolsters the lazy, infectious way of life they support.

Take a deep breath and just remember that you can't change everyone's mind. Evolution will take care of it.
