Boy , are you like me, or like I was... I thought I couldn't afford fresh produce. But , I am now learning with prices going up on can goods, that I can buy fresh, Sure , I shop around check out all the salespapers, hunt for those bargains, but I am finding that I spent no more than I did when I was buying canned foods, or boxed foods, and junk food. I plan my meals out for the week, make me a list of foods, and stick to it. Yeah, I will buy that extra something, that unadvertised special that's just waiting on me, but I make it worth the while.... next week menu will include that item. Take for example tunas on sale, but I hadn't planned it, well it can sit on my pantry shelf just as well as it does on the stores shelf, and I save money, plus I can add it in on my meal plan for another week. I also have a container in the fridge for leftover veggies, makes the best soup you ever put in your mouth, just add some V8 juice for the base, and boy are you getting all your veggies in that day. So yes I can afford to for my health.
