Happy Valentine's Day! (NOT)

Well my one month anniversary with Sparks was the 14th of Feb. I was doing good. Lost 12.8 pounds and 5.5 inches on my neck, waist and hips. Hooray!!! Then last night for Valentine's day my loving hubby took me out for a nice dinner. They had a buffet and you couldn't order off of the menu. I selected a fresh salad with blue cheese dressing( the start of my problem) a medium baked potato plain( not bad) and for meat the prime rib won me over. That was my big downfall. I weighed in yesterday morning but added my calories up this morning for yesterday and ended up with over twice as many as needed. Talk about sticker shock! Next year we will eat at home where I have a little more control over the menu. I should have stayed home and had a dark chocolate bar instead.
No more whining. I need to go see my treadmill for a while and then my Lifestyler CardioFIT. I can only keep on track now and I PRAY for better results next month. I'm not giving up!

    and clothes whitening month. whites become whiter hung out this month.. at least that's what my x mother in law used to say....

    What a cute picture. Don't worry, you can even those calories out over the coming week, being a little more careful, and at the end of the week you will be right on track. But I'm with you - not setting oneself up for a pitfall in the first place is easier! It was kind of your hubby to do for you. Maybe next year he can grill you something at home?

    You are making AWESOME progress! Just take it one day at a time - remember, it's a lifestyle change! There will be "good days" and "bad days" but if you make changes that become habits, it will become easy.

    Way to go on keeping your motivation up!

    Happy one-month Sparkiversary! Congratulations on your 12.8-pound loss so far. Considering it was a buffet, I think you still made some good choices by starting with a salad and a plain potato without any condiments. Prime rib is a fine choice for protein as long as the portion isn't too outrageous and without toppings like herbed butter.

    Did you say you lost 12.5 lbs in a month? THAT IS INCREDIBLE! I am so proud of you. Please don't loose sight of all the progress you have made in such a short amount of time. We all turn into the "cookie-monster/trash disposal for junk food" every so often. Don't be too hard on yourself!

    I was just bragging on your dueling chicken photo to my mother this morning. That thing cracks me up every time I see it.

    It is not what we do one day a year it is what we do on all the other days that determines how much we way. Enjoy the time with your husband and than get back on track.

    Thank you for the support on my blog. I'm glad to know the "twins" did well with their treatment. Men are so lucky to "discover" this early, unlike women with ovarian cancer up in the body and unaware.
    Yes, my critical husband had to even give Nathan a lecture about how "know one knows how long they will have in this life......." I wanted to just bust him in the teeth, but I just didn't say anything.
