cancel NutriSystem

Monday, February 09, 2009

i just gotmy box of food for the month, 1st time with NutriSystem. i will be sending it all back and have to do my own thing. BUMMER!
i wanted to use their program cuz i needed help with portion sizes but mostly because i don't cook or pre-plan or grocery shop well at all. their food was supposed to be easy to prep and brainless.
BUT NOOOOO.... i still need to add salads, protein, yogurt, cheese, fruits- and all specific sizes and portions- so the no-brainer kick i needed isn't what it was cracked up to be. if i have to do all that, i may as well make my own portions and eat food that tastes good since i have to do so much work anyway.
I FINALLY DECIDED TO GET HELP, COMMITTED TO A PRETTY PRICEY PLAN (big deal for me) AND IT BIT ME IN THE A$$. NOW I HAVE TO PAY TO SHIP IT ALL BACK. silver lining: i don't still pay the food costs of $300+ / month x 2 months minimum.

TOMORROW: week's food sked, grocery shop, organize.

DAMN!

I'm sorry you decided to not try NS. As for the grocery add ins, they're not that difficult. I'm on NS because I need the quick and easy way, too. I go for the quick and easy choices for my add ins, too. Skim milk is a perfect protein. An 8 oz. glass at breakfast, lunch and for an afternoon snack takes care of that. You should always have fresh fruit no matter what plan you're on and it's so easy to grab a piece of fruit for breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner. And for my veggie add ins, I just grab bags of frozen veggie mixes and pour some into a bowl and nuke them with my dinner. Yes, you can go to extremes with the add ins but I've found that keeping it simple is always best.

Best of luck with whatever route you decide to take!!

Wow, I never knew NurtiSystem was so expensive!
I remember how intimidating it was for me to have to organize my own meals at first. I used to cook the same thing for me and my husband. But he has different dietary needs now so that left me on my own.

I wish you well in getting your meals and grocery shopping in order. With time it'll get easier.
