Well, I blew it

Not the way most people would consider that statement. I haven't had an all-out blowout, no-holds-barred gorgefest. What I *have* had is a cold, the kind with a runny nose that won't quit, even under the influence of OTC cold remedies. And feeling dragged out, like Who Gives A Youknowwhat. Spark People? Met a new friend, that was *very* nice. But tracking what I ate? Fuhgeddaboutit. Which means, I probably did not take in enough calories.
Isn't that ridiculous?! I mean, to lose weight, you take in fewer calories, right? Like my doctor says, Calories in = calories out, right? Apparently not, since the reason I gave up "sparking" a year ago was that in two weeks of tracking my food, I saw that the way I usually ate was pretty low-calorie, as in, 1200-1400 a day. Great, I thought. Keep it up and I'll lose.
Well, I didn't. And my sister, who has lost very successfully, sez that that's because you have to take in a certain amount of calories, otherwise your body thinks it's in starvation mode and starts hoarding calories as fat. Eh! Who knows! But I do know that since "sparking" more seriously, I *have* lost three pounds. (Now, if only I could figure out how to move my ticker.)
Meanwhile, I gave myself some Sheep thrills ;-) I bought some fingering-weight wool from Patternworks, an online yarn shop, and a lace pattern, to make myself a head scarf for church. Head scarves never stay put on my head, for some reason, and those lacy chapel caps look so "doily." So I plan to knit myself a lace scarf in this wonderful peachy-colored yarn, and then do a Moebius ring -- give the scarf a half-twist, and graft the two ends together, and that way, maybe the dratted thing will stay on my head!!!
