The EAT LESS diet

Last New Year my husband and I decided to lose weight together.
We decided on the diet plan that I made for myself when I was in my 30's that WORKED!
I lost 60 pounds then, and kept to my target weight all my life, till I was disabled, and now need to lose 20 pounds again
When people say - WOW! You've lost weight!
I love saying 'YES! We have this FUNTASTIC diet! It really really works!
And they say 'What is it then?
And I say it's called the 'EAT LESS' diet!
But seriously, that's when I go on to explain that the basis of my diet is
The FIRST thing is I LIMIT my starches, or carbs
This is the basis for the success of the diet.
ie LIMIT your Bread, Rice, Potatoes, Pasta, Cereal etc
I have ONE starch ONLY for Breakfast,
ONE starch only for Lunch
ONE starch only for DINNER
One starch means approx
1 piece of bread, a SMALL bowl of cereal,
1 SMALL potato, or SMALL portion of pasta, rice etc
So you eat a normal Breakfast, NORMAL lunch, NORMAL dinner
YOU DO NOT FUSS ABOUT COUNTING CALORIES!!!
The THREE RULES then are:
1: Decide WHEN you eat. Then DON'T eat between meals!!
2: Decide WHAT you eat. 3 normal meals a day, but COUNT your STARCHES
3: Decide on a SMALL treat every day. Be specific, and stick to it!
You can eat a reasonable portion of meat, fish, protein etc
and as much veg and salad as you like
THIS DIET IS SO SIMPLE - and all you need to do is
1: Plan your 3 meal times, eat ONLY then, not before, and NEVER in between meals.
2: Measure WHAT starches you then eat,
3: and stick to the ONE treat a day -
this prevents binging that comes from extreme self denial, which never works!
MODIFY this diet to make it work for you, taylor it to your own needs
You WILL be rewarded!
Then you too will be able to say to those who ask
'I'm on a really special diet, made just for me - the EAT LESS diet!
