So I've been in this whole weight loss/ life-style change for almost eleven years now and am super thankful for my accomplishments (to date I've lost 157 pounds).

(This is a picture of me at 407 lbs.)

With that being said, this last stretch of hitting my final weight loss goal has been EXTREMELY difficult. At one point in time I was in the 220's, now I'm fighting and struggling like I don't know what to get under 250. I must admit that sometimes I get discouraged and frustrated. And even when I want to give up I REFUSE!!!

What helps to keep me going are the folks who are ALWAYS in my corner. Like my family, friends on SPARK (especially my niece NEWBEIN who resurrected our little Fitlinxx Challenge), my church members and co-workers. PLUS the cute Spring and Summer clothes that are hanging in my closet are a SUPER DUPER source of motivation....LOL!

I know what it takes to get this weight off...I just need to consistently do it...that's where the BIG FIGHT comes in, because to tell the truth sometimes I just don't feel like doing what's good or doing the right thing!!!

Nevertheless, I will continue to FIGHT to...

...drink 64-80 oz. of WATER a day
...drink 16 oz. of GREEN TEA a day
...do 90 mins. of CARDIO at least 5 days a week
...lift WEIGHTS at least 4 days a week
...do 50-100 PUSH UPS a day
...do 100 CRUNCHES on the stability ball a day
...do a CORE RHYTHMS workout everyday
...and the biggest fight of all will be to stay within my CALORIE LIMITS

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
Galatians 6:9 NIV

I am so relating to your blog, Doing what right consistently is the biggest fight, I too was down from 253 to about 217...now I fight to get out of the 220's. Truth be told I am getting very close to the 230 which frightens me even more.

I fight just to get on the site- because here's where I find hope, strength , and encouragement? Go figure, that one out.

But I am glad to hear you share and I know that I am not alone. Thanks for your honesty.

Deondra-- I am sooo glad to know you. You are an inspiration to me and soo many others. So here is my 2 cents...If you think you can easily keep up your fitness goals then I would have your calories recalculated to make it coincide with your fitness minutes. You might be under on you calorie intake. I always track my food before I eat it so I know what I can eat...which helps me out a lot!
Girl, I wish you such great success on your journey...you are never alone! Never!! We all love you for you!! You will win this battle...because you will never give up. You CAN do it!!

And if we hadn't found this site, we might not be so determined to continue. We would resort back to the old days and the old ways because this way is so hard. We're going to make it. YES WE CAN!!!

Seems like it would get easier, huh? We just got find new ways to inspire ourselves to keep pushing. Luckily I found races. I hope you can find the inspiration you are looking for to make the consistency a little easier.
    We're here for you, Deondra.

Calorie limits sure can be so limiting!!!! Personally I think you are butting to much stress on doing to much exercise! More exercise makes your body need more food (I noticed this when I was training for a 10K run). Do you remember when you first started and how much exercise you did then? Everything needs to balance? (somehow). We need to have realistic goals that can fit in our everyday lifestyles for the long term, not just the short term.

I know I am preaching, but I care and I don't want you to stress over the small stuff. Remember one day at a time will get you to your goals. Slowly but surely. Quick fixes don't make for lasting results.

D, first of all let me just say that you have done an awesome job!! You are such an inspiration to me! I too had lost 60lbs and have gained most of it back, so I know the struggle in which you are talking about. You are so right, it is so much more easier when we have those support systems. Keep on fighting girlfriend!! Together we can win!! emoticon
